The purpose of predictive sciences

We had a meeting of our alumni Association the other day. That’s the alumni association of the Dept. of Communication and Journalism, Kerala University. As part of the meeting there was a talk on Numerology by Mr. Nandakumar IAS who is an alumnus of our department and is presently the Director of Information and Public Relation with the Government of Kerala.

After the talk was over there was a lively discussion on the validity of predictive sciences such as these. Unfortunately a lack of time prevented us from getting into the subject as deeply as many of us had wished to.

But even after I got back home, I couldn’t shake the thought off.

I totally believe that these sciences developed in humanity since they served a purpose. And although a lot of times they are used for selfish or shortsighted gain, the very fact that they have managed to exist throughout the centuries means that it is very possible that there is something to these sciences that is beyond the usual ‘psychological trickery and superstitions’ that many people dismiss them to be.

What are predictive sciences? They seem to be systems that give one an idea of certain elements, predispositions or factors that are predominant in one’s life. So, why are they here? What is their purpose?

I find it hard to believe that they are here to tell me when the motor accident is likely to occur or when I am going to die or even what I should focus on to make money. They may be able to tell me that, but what is to be achieved on my real inner quest by knowing these things, that my eternal Self would consider superficial?

After sifting through a ton of stuff and finally arriving at the knowledge that life and death and my experience here are things that each individual personally determines and engineers, I was left with the question – so what is the purpose of having these sciences here on planet Earth?

The answer that I arrived at – they are here to give you clear clues about what you have decided to focus on in this lifetime. That is probably their biggest contribution. My understanding is that we are each of us divine creatures, who are here for our own individual purpose, with specific things that we have set out to do. However, due to the systems that we are born into, many of us forget or put on the back burner, the things that we are passionate about, the things that we came here to do. If we are in touch with these predictive sciences, they will tell us, based on the time of our birth or the numbers that we have chosen, what it is we are inclined towards. And if we take the clues that he predictive sciences give us, we might spend far less time searching for our purpose in life, or in focusing on our mission. This might meant far less angst, far more peace, lots more flowing with the river of Life

After spending thirty three years on planet Earth, I have been led to an understanding that my forte is in working with people, with communicating, with sharing my life experiences that may serve to inspire others. This is a realization that I have been slowly arriving at during the past couple of years, due to introspection and a constant search to be in touch with my inner Being. Imagine my surprise, when a numerologist tells me that the numbers of my date of birth say that my areas of focus should be in speaking to people, counseling, inspirational classes. It’s an immense measure of reassurance to hear this.

Of course, this does not mean that I have to limit myself to this. But it does give me an insight that what I suspected in my heart for a long time is valid. It’s not a question of knowing earlier – I mean , it’s not like I feel like if I had known this earlier I would have been able to do so much more … etc…It’s more about feeling grounded in the knowledge of what you chose to do even before you arrived here physically. It’s also about reconnecting me with the awesome knowledge that when I decided to be born here, I had a clear vision in mind, and I chose this particular date and this particular time to serve as signposts that would be strong clues to my forgetful Human self, about what my divine intention was.

Much love to you all!

Is an Intro old-fashioned?

I sat for a few minutes pondering whether it would be too passe to have an introduction to my blog. And what I arrived at is that it's important for me to say a formal hello to this space as i am about to launch myself onto yet another web page. So here goes.
Hi! I'm about to start off on a new journey. I am finally getting down to putting down bits and pieces of me randomly in a public space for anyone out there to see. I really have to applaud the human race for being so 'into' this mode of communication, especially since a few years ago, our definition of something to be wary of would include 'allowing yourself to publish your thought and fear and dreams on a public venue' (i know, this doesn't apply as scary for many, but to a few it does)
this page is a space dedicated to the ruminations of my mind/body/spirit. I am gong to try and be honest and persevering about the quality and regularity of posts. It's an attempt to talk to you and find out how alike we all are on this journey that we have undertaken to experience.
Enough of the intro, let's get on with it!
